Pilegrimsbu in Øyer
Right by Gudbrandsdalsleden at Ensby in Øyer, construction is well underway at Gudbrandsdalsleden's second Pilegrimsbu. On the beautiful plot with a view in Tyttebærskogen, there will be access to toilets, water, information, wifi and electricity for charging GPS and mobile. There will also be seating under roof to rest your feet after the climb uphill.

On the construction site, traditional craftsman Meik Weidner from Weidner AS is well underway with the build of the Sustainable Pilgrim Stop (Pilegrimsbua). Traditional construction techniques such as dry masonry and timberwork are used here, and the building materials consist of slate from local quarries and wood from the area. In addition, recycled materials will be used, as sustainability and environmentally friendly solutions are an important part of the project.
Pilegrimsbua is a result of the Sustainable Reststop Project which is led by the National Pilgrimage Center with funding from Sparebankstiftelsen DnB. The cabin at Ensby comes up in cooperation between the National Pilgrim Center and the Regional Pilgrim Center Dale-Gudbrand, and it is Meik Weidner who takes the construction process all the way from start to finish.
Pilegrimsbua will welcome both local hikers and long-distance pilgrims and will be ready for the pilgrimage season 2022.

Well recieved
