Tour suggestions in the Hamar region

The pilgrim path through the Hamar region offers a varied landscape through wood land and a wide and beautiful cultural landscape. You will encounter many medieval sites, medieval churches, manor farms and idyllic smallholdings The paths also leads you through the towns of Hamar, Brumunddal and Moelv.

The lenght of the pilgrim path is approx. 135 kilometers. The southern starting point may be Eidsvoll, with train station and Skibladner pier.

Or you can spend a long weekend at the Pilgrim Route from Moelv to Hamar and Atlungstad Destillery.

You can combine the walk with the local railway, or shorten the stages by taking Skibladner at Lake Mjøsa. If Skibladner's timetables do not fit in, then another option is to book a trip on board the scheduled boat to Mjøscharter. Pilgrims walking the Gudbrandsdal Path can prebook luggage transfer between the accommodations from Oslo to Dovre, from NOK 100 per day.

The «Pilgrims’ Route» is a part of the EuroVelo 3 «Pilgrims Route» and is signposted from Halden to Lillehammer. The route through the Hamar region offers mainly easy cycling, with some climbs in between.
